Members of this jazz quintet have been playing the local music scene for decades – their musical genres include jazz, blues, rock, classical and folk. They are musicians whose names you will surely recognize if you’ve attended the Lakefield Jazz Festival or frequent Jethro’s, the Black Horse or other music venues in the Peterborough region. These accomplished musicians will kick off our concert series at Rice Lake Arts!

We are thrilled to have the Weber Brothers join us at Rice Lake Arts this season! Their renowned musical ability, high-energy, awe-inspiring performances and lessons learned first hand from rock n’ roll pioneers -The Weber Brothers always deliver. A mix of rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, jazz, country, swing and ballads, over the past 20 years Ryan and Sam Weber have recorded 17  independent albums and toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.Their most recent album, “I’m Free”, the third in a trilogy, was released in April 2024. Highly regarded for their proficiency as studio musicians, the brothers have recorded on hundreds of outside projects, including work with Gordon Lightfoot, Kris Kristofferson, Ronnie Hawkins and Willie Nelson.

Al Lerman is a veteran bluesman with a highly personal style. Possessing a wealth of knowledge of the blues tradition on both harmonica and guitar, he brings that sensibility to songs that he’s written about his own contemporary life and times. His soulful delivery, coupled with wry and thoughtful songwriting, make him an engaging and hypnotic performer. He is considered among the top harmonica players in the country, and has been heard on countless recordings and live sessions. His latest album “Country-Fried Blues” was released in April 2024 to rave reviews.

The Receivers are a musical group from Ontario who perform a variety of folk genres including Irish, Bluegrass and Contemporary Traditional. In 2023 the Receivers were nominated for a Canadian Folk Music award in Vancouver B.C for their first EP. Their most recent single entitled, “Highland Cow” was released in July of 2023. Their energetic musical artistry belies their youth – we are excited to have this group of outstanding musicians close out our Rice Lake Arts 2024 Concert series!
